The following tests are available for the internal language:

• Freiburg figures

• Freiburg words

After starting the internal language test, a menu appears that allows you to choose between these tests. Use the "Up arrow" (28) or "Down arrow" (35) buttons to select one of the available tests. Confirm this test by pressing the "OK" button (30).

In a further menu, you now have the option of selecting a word group for the test. Again, use the "Arrow up" (28), "Arrow down" (35) and "OK" (30) buttons.

If the device setting "Speech audiometry à random group selection" is set to "Yes", a randomly selected group is suggested each time the test is called up. This prevents the same group of words from being used several times by a test person and the test person learning the words of this group.

After selecting the group, the test is set up. The test parameters are shown on the LC display. The list of words in the selected test group appears in the middle of the display.

Use the "Transducer selection" button (1) to select the desired output and then use the "Side" button (6) to set the test side to right (8) or left (7). If only one loudspeaker is connected for free-field measurements, the side to which it is connected must be selected.

The volume can now be preset using the level control (42, 47). The masking mode and level are set in the same way as described for tone audiometry.

The test is now started by pressing the "OK" button (30). The device plays the first word from the word list to the test person and then waits until the examiner has assessed whether the test person has reproduced the word correctly or incorrectly by pressing the "Counter / Correct" (36) or "Incorrect" (37) buttons.

The last word played is highlighted in the list on the LC display. A question mark appears behind it until it has been evaluated by the examiner. Words rated as "correct" are marked with a "+", words rated as "incorrect" are marked with a "-".

The counter for correctly and incorrectly understood words is also shown on the display. The intelligibility (ratio of correctly understood words to the total number of words) and the discrimination loss (ratio of incorrectly understood words to the total number of words) are also shown.

Once all the words in the test have been played and evaluated, the word "back" is highlighted below the word list. Another language test can be selected by pressing the "OK" button (30).

During playback of the word list, the playback of a word can be repeated by pressing the "OK" button (30). The "Up arrow" button (28) can always be used to go back to "Start" at the beginning of the word list in order to repeat the current test by confirming with "OK" (30). You can also use the "Down arrow" button (35) to switch to "Back" at the end of the list and then press "OK" (30) to return to the test selection. Alternatively, the test selection can also be displayed at any time by pressing the "Left arrow" button (29).
