Setting up the KA450 appliance

Please note!

Do not place the appliance in one place:

  • where it is exposed to direct sunlight

  • where it is exposed to moisture

  • where it is placed close to heat sources such as radiators

  • which is poorly ventilated

There are different ways of setting up the KA450 depending on the space available:

  • The patient and the examiner sit directly opposite each other or offset, with the examiner having the device directly in front of them

  • The patient sits in a hearing test booth. The examiner sits outside the booth and has the audiometer directly in front of them. The examiner has eye contact with the patient through a window in the booth.

Please note!

In order to achieve reliable audiometric measurement results on test subjects, the KA450 must be set up in a room that is as free as possible from background noise. The best measurement results are obtained by using a hearing test booth. Ask your sales partner.

Setting up the speakers

The free-field loudspeaker boxes must be directed towards the patient at an angle of 90° to the sound emission surface and must be positioned at head height to the patient. The distance between the loudspeaker box and the patient should be in the range of 1 - 1.5 m.
