External language KA450
The "Language" button (13) allows you to set the playback of track I (15), track II (14) or both tracks (both displays light up).
Use the "Transducer selection" button (1) to select the desired output and then use the "Side" button (6) to set the test side to right (8) or left (7). If only one loudspeaker is connected for free-field measurements, the side to which it is connected must be selected.
The volume can now be preset using the level control (42, 47). The masking mode and level are set in the same way as described for tone audiometry.
The speech test is now started by starting the external speech source. Please refer to the information on the respective test material for information on the speech material.
During the test, the device provides a counter for words correctly and incorrectly reproduced by the test person. Press the "Counter / Correct" button (36) to increase the counter for correctly understood words and the "Incorrect" button (37) to increase the counter for incorrectly understood words.
In addition to these two counters, the LC display shows the intelligibility (ratio of correctly understood words to the total number of words) and the discrimination loss (ratio of incorrectly understood words to the total number of words).
The counters can be reset by pressing the "Clear" button (33).
Note!
Dichotic language test
If a dichotic language test is used, e.g. the Feldmann test, press the button (13) repeatedly until both the "Language I" (15) and "Language II" (14) displays light up.
In the dichotic speech test, the test person is presented with different information in the right and left ear at the same time in order to test central speech comprehension.
Before the examination, make sure that the VU Meter settings for the left and right signal input are set correctly (see chapter Settings > VU Meter).
